Best Team Compositions in Deadlock (2026)
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Deadlock has no draft phase — you pick freely and fill the gaps your team is missing. Knowing what a balanced comp needs (and which archetypes win) helps you pick to cover holes instead of forcing your comfort hero into a doomed lineup. Here's how to think about team comps, the same way the www.deadlock.io community frames it.
Deadlock.ioQuick answer: A functional comp needs a frontline/initiator, at least one scaling carry, and some CC/sustain — avoid all-squishy, all-melee, or no-carry teams. Then lean into one archetype: dive, poke/zone, scaling, or pick.
The roles a comp needs
| Role | Example |
|---|---|
| Frontline / initiator | |
| Gun carry | |
| Spirit carry / burst | |
| Control / sustain |
Archetype comps
- Hard engage / dive: an initiator fast burst (Dynamo Seven Haze Abrams). Catch the enemy grouped and delete them. Loses to disengage/peel.
- Poke & zone: area denial siege (Seven McGinnis Dynamo). Control angles, punish steps-in, convert to objectives. Loses to dive that jumps the backline.
- Scaling / late-game: a frontline protecting farm-hungry carries (Abrams/McGinnis Victor Seven Ivy). Survive to your spikes and out-last. Loses to early aggression.
- Pick / catch: lockdown burst (Lash/Bebop Haze/Graves). Delete one isolated enemy and play a man up. Loses to disciplined grouping.
